The New Jerusalem Hasselt is one of the churches of The New Jerusalem, Church of God in Belgium. “La Nouvelle Jérusalem” is a group of several protestant and pentecostal churches. It was founded in 1986 following the pastoral mandate that Dr. Martin MUTYEBELE LUKANDA received from the Church of God, The Church of GOD.
The Church of GOD is an international Protestant and Pentecostal Christian denomination born in the United States in 1886. Its headquarters are located in the city of Cleveland, Tennessee. The Church of God, Church of GOD is present today in nearly 190 countries around the world.
History of the New Jerusalem Hasselt
Formerly a house cell gathering the brothers and sisters in Christ of the region for prayer and Bible study, The New Jerusalem Hasselt became a full-fledged local church on June 02, 2002. The late Bishop Adama OUEDRAOGO, former pastor of the EL SHADDAI church in Luxembourg, was at the base and at the initiative of its creation.
Bishop Abraham David LOKESA is the titular pastor of New Jerusalem Hasselt since its creation. He is assisted in this task by a committee of 10 people.
